We all want more events, and also want the war and battle become more various. And it's also quests and events, make ES2 various. However, when i was in a war, i always feel my empire just seems not so passionate to this, when victory they do not cheer, when defeatd still seems they dont care much about this. But I want the empire will re-unity once more and more than ever before when a war happens, all will answer the call nomatter how far they are from the war zone. 

So I came out this idea : 


War Story line : Similar to the fation story line. When one player (or both players) join a war, a event of story line happens at once. 

If the player declared war against another empire, the 1st quest may need to eliminate an enemy main fleet which is the nearest one. Another empier will receive another quest to intercept the incoming enemy.

After the battle, the result decide the rewards, decisive victory would bring ships (follow the enemy's design), manpower, science research points, influences or dust. Major victory will bring less reward, and so on. However, the one who lost the battle (like minor defeated) will also get rewards, the defeat will also bring another industrial or economical quest or event, allow the empire to fight back the disadvantages. 

Both empire will receive the 2nd quest to the next step, invade and conquer a system, or prevent it. Still, the result decide the rewards. 

And to the next step, until one empire suffer heavy loses and decide to offer a treaty. 


There are still many situations, like if you lost ur home system, there will be a event which give you additional military / industrial support in the war. Or if your enemy just equiped a death star system to their dreadnoughts or CVs, there will have and happen somethings to let you know at least, and perhaps give you one more chance.



Another situation is : when a player is fighting 2 or more empires, emergency alliance could become one option. This is usually for AI, as players can do it themselves in a multiplayer game. 



Of course this will increase the game's difficult level to reach victory though conquer, but, yeah, you see, that's what all you want (or much of us want that) : more quests, more events, more various war, and more challenges. Its just a simple way to change and dont need to change the game.
