Complex Horatio late game quest "Perfection"

Hey guys,

This is supposed to be some kind of late game Horatio questline.

I can't say if the numbers and the base concept of a late game quest is balanced or not.

But I still want to share the idea.

In my head this would make a great new feature for a valentines update (just read through and you know why).

Additionally I'm neather native english speaker nor a professional writer but I still hope you enjoy reading through it ^^

Quest:

Perfection

Chapter 1

It's hard for Horatio to admitt it...

One of his best scientists involved in the gene splicing project and clone programm recently reported a minor genetic disfunction within the main Horatio gene code.

Primus does not know which race's DNA corrupted the beautiful Horatio genepool yet but its already too late investigating on that. The DNA has already been spread to all Horatio population  in the whole galaxy.

Although it's such a small unremarkable defect.. it still reminds Horatio of something he always ignored to think of, an insight he always pushed away.

That Horatio might not be perfect!

After many debates in closed circles of the best scientists of the empire they came to one final conclusion. There is only one way to solve the problem hidden within their DNA.

One has to admit that, although many races contributed their best parts, Horatios DNA is still based on Human DNA for the most part.

That means that Horatio, sooner or later, will have to resort to more.. primitive ways of reprodiction.

He will have to create a female version of himself.

A new kind of Horatio.

Of course, to get accepted in the Horatio culture they must be just as perfect as himself.

Project:Horatia was born.

The first step will be how to deal with this new movement concerning the main population.

Choice1

...spread the news within your empire.

This would be a wise step to prepare your population for the upcoming changes. You would need to glorify the next step of Horatio evolution to prevent your empire from falling apart.

And if your population accepts or even welcomes the upcoming changes you may even benefit from this later.

Effect:

[Supports pacifists]

[-0.5 per turn] approval on Horatio population within your empire until you finished chapter 2.

Chapter 2 will be availabe instantly.

New Buildings:

"Next Evolution" Marketing

-50% Approval malus from Quest

Objective:

Hold 50% Approval within youe empire until finishing chapter 2.

Penalty:

-5 Approval on Horatio population for 15 turns.

Reward:

+5 Approval on Horatio Population for 15 turns

Choice 2

...keep it a secret.

Of course you would never let such sensitive information reach the main population. For them, realizing that they have a mistake deep within them and dealing with the self doubt Primus is experiencing right now would destroy the empire he build up. You're sure they will accept the changes as soon as they see the final result of the project.

Effect:

[Supports Industrials]

None.

You directly move on to the next chapter but will have a 50% chance of a political desaster after you finished it.

Chapter 2

So now that you prepared everything for the succes of the project it's time to actually create her.

During the next few months you will only focus on the project. You are horatio Primus... you are one if not the best gene scientist in the whole galaxy.

Creating a female version of  yourself that looks just as good as you do.. but female.. should be now problem.

New Building

Project:Horatia

Needs [large amount] of science to complete. It should take about 10-15 rounds to build on a well developed System.

Objective:

Build Project:Horatia on one of your systems.

This should happen as fast as possible (remember possible approval malus from chapter 1).

Reward:

Hero:Horatia

Horatia was the first female horatio and is supposed to lead the empire at Primus side.

She is an overseer hero that supports the pacifist political party.

She starts on the same level as the academy.

Chapter 3

She is here, and she is beautiful.

Project Horatia was a success.

Soon exact copies of her will be send with ships to all Horatio planets of the galaxy.

Of course they all look the same as they are perfect clones from the first one...

but Primus still thinks that the Original is the most perfect one.

Now you need to persuade your population to actually get closer to each other.

Perhaps it's your duty as a responsible leader to do make the first step.

A positive example... so to say.

The only problem is that Primus will need to impress Horatia to ask for her hand... a problem a leader even as experienced as you never had to face before...

What is the best way to approach?

Choice 1: Beautyful Setting

A beautiful setting will do the trick.

All races within Horatias Genepool show positive reactions to perfect envoirments.

Objective:

Assign Horatia to a level 4 System with a colonized planet of one of the type Terran, Mediterranean, Atoll or Ocean or the "Garden Eden" Anomaly.

Level her up while assigned on this planet.

Reward:

Program:Eden

Apply the "Garden Eden" anomaly to a vertile planet via terraforming.

Choice 2: Precious Gifts

The fastes way to a womans heart are gifts.

Primus knows that after long and intense studies of romantic Mezari literature.

Objective:

Assign Horatia to a level 4 System.

Then explore the curiosity on this planet spending the following recources:

Endless Foundries and/or Virtual Artifacts x 15

Mercurite, Voidstones, Benthic Gems and/or Ionic Crystals x 15

Dust x 5000

Reward:

New Building:

Jewellery Marked

+10% per planetary recources of:

Endless Foundries; Virtual Artifacts;Mercurite; Voidstones; Benthic Gems; Ionic Crystals

+200% recource generation through trading companies or planetary recources on:

Endless Foundries; Virtual Artifacts;Mercurite; Voidstones; Benthic Gems; Ionic Crystals

Choice 3: Good Impression

Seriously, you are Horatio Primus first and most perfect of all Horatio and definetly worth all her attention.

She seems to be a pacifist so changing the political direction of your empire may help showing her what an amazing, wise and handsome leader you are.

Objective:

Stay out of any conflict with other empires until the next vote and make sure the pacifists will be the leading political party.

Reward:

New Building:

Peace establishment

+2 Influence and happieness on Horatio population.

Influence Production of the System increase the pacifist party (only on this System).

Chapter 4

You had no doubt that your efforts would be a success. 

In the end Horatio succeeds in all things, even women.

Now it's time to show all of your fellow clones how it's done.

The best way would be a classic marriage as described in the old Mezari literature.

Everything will be perfect. 

Just like you. 

And her.

This will be the biggest event in the whole galaxy.

Guests fromm all over your and all other empires will arrive.

You Should probably start sending invitations to the other factions and preparing the.. lets say necessary space for the marriage.

Effect:

New System:

Amor

Quest-system with one planet within your empires area of influence and as close to the academy as possible.

You will automaticlly colonize the planet so you are able to build things. (does not count as a colonized planet)

There will be only one building available: "Marriage Infrastructure"

It takes 15 turns until its build and costs 75% gained dust per turn.

A timer above the system is visible to all factions who recieved an invite:

New Diplomatic message: Invite to marriage

Can only be sed to empires in alliance or in peace with your own.

If accepted they will recieve a quest to send a heroes ship to system:Amor and stay there until

"Marriage Infrastructure" is completed and the event beginns.

They will then spend 2000 dust as a gift and will recieve bonus dust from all trading with your empire as a reward for the rest fo the game.

If they don't accept or show up in time they will not recieve any bonuses and missed one of the most spectacular events ever to happen in the galaxie.

Penalty:

If the system gets invaded and taken or the planet destroyed the quest failes.

(The planet should have enough base defences not to be taken easily.)

Horatio Primus will die in a shakesbearish way with Horatia in his arms who got killed during the battles previously.

Your empire will fall into anarchy.

Reward:
