Ship level up enhancement

Currently when ships level up they gain only HP bonuses which doesn’t make much logical sense.

Why an experienced crew has more HP on the same ship?
On top of all this only adds to the gap between energy defence and projectile defence.


This is how levelling up looks currently:

Instead of improving ship HP I would suggest minor bonuses in areas like:
ship evade, accuracy bonus, repair after battle, critical hit chance

+4% accuracy, +3% ship evade, +1% crit chance

+6% accuracy, +5% ship evade, +3% crit chance

Elite

+8% accuracy, +6% ship evade, +3% crit chance, 1% HP repaired after battle

Elite II

+9% accuracy, +7% ship evade, +4% crit chance, 2% HP repaired after battle

Elite III

+10% accuracy, +8% ship evade, +5% crit chance, 3% HP repaired after battle

Legendary

+12% accuracy, +10% ship evade, +7% crit chance, 5% HP repaired after battle


The values are just a suggestion and can be altered to make this more usable but since legendary ships have 2,5 the HP of rookie ones this doesn't look to much and maybe even the values should be even bigger.

I can understand from a logical point the level system looks very basic and boring at first sight. Tinkering with different stats, however, would introduce more RNG to battles which is a terrible thing to do to a strategy game. I believe we already have enough RNG mechanics in the game. With every military tier increase, we are getting new starting levels too so we have to be more careful when giving stats.


That being said, I agree with you on doing something. I suggest opening a discussion topic about this; this is an interesting topic.

Got my vote, but it is also including a HP rework where we don't need legendary HP levels to survive past the first phase of battle.

HP rework is discussed and suggested in this thread and I agree it is a very needed fix.

Once it is in place and this leveling up is also implemented everything should work out well.


Any adjustment on ship getting killed to fast at that point may be done with weapon damage reduction / increase.
