Create Dust Monsters and other Such Creatures

Though a bit of a genre cliche, I think the Endless Universe has room for beings that have been enhanced or altered by DUST that could act as planet guardians, system guardians, etc. Of course, the actual design of these creatures would be your artists' creation, but it would be really cool to see what you all could come up with and to have more environmental adversity would be really appreciated. 

Ideas:

• A planet-guarding pseudo-Kraken that is slowly sucking the life out of a Gaia planet. The sooner you kill it, the better the planet for colonization. 
• A group of highly intelligent pack animals that defend their territory, i.e. a unique planet, from EVERYONE, as it's the only world they can live in. Perhaps also provides a quest for their friendship?
• An planet-sized menace that camoflages as a planet, but reveals itself to defend a particular system that meets its heat requirements.
• A clan of super Pirates, with a unique base, that has been the bane of the constellation, but yields unique rewards.

Stuff like this.
