As it stands Faction Quests can be worth doing, but they personally feel like a letdown. They are based off of themes of evolving, or rising to a greater level on the galactic stage, or both, yet they do not seem to actually provide new powers or change to an empire with the sole exception of the UE being able to change their population type. I think that, ideally, completing the Faction Quest should at some point give you either:
- Some manner of new ability (For example, the Vodyani Acadamy could be used to give unique bonuses to heroes at the cost of Essence)
- The capacity to change or improve their poulation (Ex. the Cravers becoming the Wasp by serving the Endless)
- A building or Factionwide bonus that improves on the Faction Affinity rather that just FIDSI (Ex. the Cravers building something to turn depletion point production from Craver Pops on fully depleted systems into happiness, FIDSI, and strategic resource bonuses if they rebel against the endless)
Keep in mind, the examples are just meant to illustrate what I am talking about here.
