We're back with another Meet the Team! Take a peek inside the studio, learn more about the many careers and paths that led our collaborators to join Amplitude!

If you want to know more about us, or your niece wants to learn more about the career path of a game developer, or if you're just curious, read on.

A man of few words, but numerous creations, meet Jimmy, aka jim pxl!

Who are you and what is your job at Amplitude?

My name's Jimmy, I'm 35, 2D/3D artist at Amplitude since 2012. You essentially know me for drawing and modeling characters for Endless Legend.

What were you doing before you joined the studio?

I started working in the gaming industry a long time ago, in 2000. Back in the day, as a concept artist, but I've since taken up 3D.

I went through a bunch of smaller studios (Eugen Systems, Neko, Punchers Impact...)

Just before joining Amplitude, I took a break to work on personal projects.

What do you like the most at Amplitude?

There's a great atmosphere, we take the time to do things, I like the freedom I'm given to do my work, and above all, there are cakes and biscuits (NdE: we celebrated AmpliMath's birthday today! Lots of cakes and pastries indeed...).

What feature have you worked on that you're super proud of?

The characters in Endless Legend. There were many very original things to create.

In general, Endless Legend is the project I worked on that I am the proudest of.

What are you currently working on?

:)

What's your favorite game of all time?

Street fighter 3.3. I just never get tired of it.

I've been playing it since it came out, 18 years ago... but that doesn't mean I'm good at it! ^^

What’s the game you dream of creating?

A sequel to Jet Set Radio Future. The universe, the characters, the music... I find this game amazing.

Is there anywhere on the Internet where I can see more of your stuff? Twitter?

If dust is not an issue: Jimpxl.tumblr.com

What's your favorite race or character in our games?

The Cultists because they're just really bizarre.

Otherwise, I like the Jotus. I find them rather cute with their two heads.

Is there a funny story that happened to you at Amplitude?

There is indeed the story of this potted plant next to my desk, that regularly tried to get me killed... but it is still too early to talk about it.

What's the most played song in your music library?

Not a track in particular, but an album. Moderat's "II".

What obscure movie would you recommend watching?

"Koyaanisqatsi"

It is hard to recommend this movie, because it is really special, and you have to be ready to sit down and watch it, but I think everyone should watch it at least once in their lives.

That's it for Jimmy! We hope you found this interesting. Comments or additional questions, feel free to comment!
