Community Spotlight #1

Our Amplitude community has many passionate individuals. Some people pour their heart and soul into a long role-play session based on the Endless universe on the forums or with their local group. Others create board and card games set in the Endless universe. We have seen mods, fan art, and even music! We love it.

We want to take some time to appreciate the dedication of these fans and what they offer the community, so we want to present you the first community spotlight. Today, we’ll take small steps and share a piece of fan-art and a selection of small but interesting mods for both Endless Legend and Endless Space 2.

Simplified Chinese by Jackcnkr  (Link)

While we don’t speak Chinese ourselves, we know that we have some very dedicated fans in China. Some of these fans have taken it on themselves to localize Endless Legend to Simplified Chinese, which probably makes this a large mod rather than a small one. They’ve covered everything from tooltips to quest narration, which strikes me as a monumental task for such a small group of people. Their love for this game clearly shows in the many hours of work this must have taken, even if we can’t fully appreciate the fruits of their labor.

Dynamic Game Speeds by ZenTractor  (Link)

Have you ever played Endless Legend and felt you had no time to build all the cool stuff you research? Have you ever unlocked a new set of weapons and wished you had more time to create new armies and conquer your enemies before their research gets a chance to catch up? If you answered yes to any of these questions (and judging by the Steam Workshop, almost 9000 people did at some point), you are not alone in that sentiment. ZenTractor has provided his Dynamic Game Speeds mod for all our “normal research, fast production and warfare” needs.

Grey Behemoths and Hero Ships by Kuma  (Link)

Many of you wanted other color options for the Behemoth ships in Endless Space 2: Supremacy, and even before that for the colors of the hero ships. Luckily, people more artistically inclined than we are have provided replacements! As an example of this, we present you Grey Behemoths and Hero Ships, which neatly packages a neutral color for both Behemoths and Heroes in one mod, and even offers a lighter alternate skin for the heroes. And it doesn’t even break achievements!

A light grey alternate hero skin

And the darker grey Behemoth skin

More Traits by Redraluin  (Link)

This mod does exactly what it says on the tin: It adds more traits with which you can create your custom faction, adds stronger levels of existing traits and broadens the selection of effects. Additional starting heroes, specialized hero bonuses, stronger but more expensive ships, additional population production bonuses… The list of traits is long! This mod should allow you to tweak your faction just the way you want, whether you want to create the most powerful faction possible or just want to fine-tune a faction made for roleplay.

New traits in old categories

And entirely new categories

Grey hero ships and behemonths are cool, though I'd still love to see these two ships with faction specific skins some day. :D

They should take some community art, music, etc. and put it into the game(s) if possible. Example: that artwork on top: unique planet? quest when you send a probe to a planet encounter the character with that spear and that "Skyfin." Make character a hero if quest is completed. Just an idea

LeaderEnemyBoss deserves a lot of credit for his work on the Community Endless Legend Patch. It actually makes the AI rather good without cheating. He's put a lot of work into it and I think those changes should be included in the base game.

Yes, of course, but we've got to pace ourselves. :D

The Skyfin and the Allayi are from Endless Legend, acting as the playable faction from the Shifters expansion. They're presumably dead after the calamity that befell Auriga, the planet on which Endless Legend takes place. You can find Auriga in Endless Space 2 as a unique planet.
