I've started waiting till I have +400 ton ships before I try to invade systems.

But I'm thinking the blockage is a pretty good strategy, especially on smaller maps. Blockades eliminate the factions access to resources in that system, yes?

Anyone else using blockades quite a bit?

I use blockades for the same reason. It keeps the enemy from being able to build ships and can shorten the war.

Especially when you're going against the Harmony. They don't have to pay upkeep and will churn out ships at an alarming rate.

In the early game yes.

wtf rush and unprepared enemy and blockade every single system of him (even just with one small ship)

this will crush his entire Dust economy and his approval rate empire wide (and if his system are on strike they suffer a -50% Food and -50% Industrie malus and if his Empire is on strike he suffers also an -50% Science malus)

crushing his entire economy.

and if hes not an military or industrie faction hes just not able to counter your main rush/invasion fleet so that he has already lost.
