I've been playing a game of ES today and I was wondering if there is anything to unlock (like the new hero in Dungeon of the Endless) ?

There is a new hero to pick, called Tarosh Emlek. Not sure if you need to get the Endless Day achievement so he stays around after the 25th January.

No 100% sure but I think You just need to hire him or something and he will be unlocked.

I'm not sure about the endless day achievement too, just finished game and didn't get it.



Edit: Nevermind, need to win on Endless difficulty...

To obtain the Endless Day achievement, you have to finish a game in Endless difficulty! Seems hard, hum? You can also run a game with a friend in endless difficulty, without AI, collaborate to win (for example colonize both half of the galaxy(choose tiny size), then pass it to your friend (avoid faction with eternal war trait), expansion victory next turn). You don't need a specific faction or even the archivist hero to do this. Tested and approved.

You can also assign diminished custom factions in single player if you want to lower the challenge: create a faction with all the negative traits and assigns it to the AI you're going to fight. However, it's not really fair; so it depends on your bravery

ENDLESS SPACE

•How to unlock the Emlek Tarosh hero: you need to start a new game of Endless Space (make sure you have disabled your mods if you are playing with any), before January 25th (end of the event). If you manage to do so, the hero will be unlocked for your future games once the event is over.



•To unlock the “Endless Day” achievement: win a game in “Endless” difficulty, started between January 21st and January 25th, but completed at any time.

I checked game files and Emlek Tarosh has "EndlessArchivist" hero description (also corporate and commander).

is this something important for game mechnics (stats or sth), or just a RPG thing?
