Hi, my first post smiley: biggrin nice to meet you Endless peoples.

To the question is, I want to know if there any explanation/lore about Sheredyn's affinity "enemy cannot retreat"? why they cannot retreat? because Sheredyn have Jedi power force pull so enemy can't move? smiley: lol.png" alt="smiley: smiley: lol" title="smiley: lol" /> (I kidding about Jedi, obvious)

What make them special so that enemy fight against them can't retreat?

Thanks in advanced, have a nice day.

Probably because according to the lore the Sheredyn are the elite branch of the United Empire. Their superior tactics must give them a huge advantage over others.

Aha curious indeed! how Sheredyn can prevent opponents from retreating is mystery as there no in game description or game's lore explanation.

As Adventurer_Biltz said, maybe its (speculation, perhaps?) tactical advantage they had, due to their unique tactic? or they just simple able use Dust to manipulate enemy's fleet so they unable to move or whatever (similar to Jedi force power joke as OP said lol) I wish there a bit explanation in game as well since this ability are very powerful.

Why only Sheredyn can do this whist others faction can't do the same, curious.

"When we first saw an approaching Sheredyn fleet, six gorgeous golden spaceships, greed seized hold of our minds. All we could think about was capturing those ships. We were craving for them badly; we were blind. 1 missile destroyer versus 4 heavy armoured cruisers and 2 huge dreadnoughts? Nothing stake, nothing draw! Screw "The Calling", screw our holy mission! We want the golden ships no matter the cost!"

Probably dust mixed into the ship metallic alloy and then Sheredyn manipulated the dust to affect the subconscious. We have seen some of the things dust can do in EL with more primitive fantasy races, with ardent mages used it to become super human mixing dust with raw pain(dust reacts can react to living beings).Auriga based vaulters used dust artifacts to create constructs. Also I'm not too sure but I think the windwalkers, necrophages and the drakken were dust based evolution experiments done by the endless. The two endless races had dust at the centre of their civilizations, so we know it is a heck of a substance.

The Sheredyn having nothing in their lore tying them to being able to use dust as any sort of weapon though. The only thing they really use it for besides as currency is for a late-game dust powered system defense system.

Why is this even an affinity? Why not simply: if my ships are faster than yours then you cannot retreat? Indeed why three phases? If my ships are faster than yours then I want to just keep you at missile range. Why am I required to walk right up to your kinetic weapons and get shot in the face?

I can remember the G2G Vote for the Sheredyn affinity that it was voteable under the headline "Battlenet"

I found the old link for you : http://forums.amplitude-studios.com/content.php?242-G2G-results-February-6th

The word "Battlenet" implies that the Sheredyn use cyberwarefare (Hacking,Viruses, etc) imo

A NETwork of hyperdrive jammers on their ships would be also possible.

That's why I think each faction should have unique ship modules, and the Sheredyn should thus have an interdiction module that prevents retreating. It would make more sense to me, than it being automatic as it is now.
