You build ships with siege modules and lay siege to their system for a few turns(Which can be made quicker through bombing them once you have that unlocked) or you build ships with invasion troop modules and land those to insantly occupy the system.

Be mindful that bombing the planet will damage its infrastructure and lower its pop. Same goes with invasion modules.



Another tip, if you are planning on using invasion modules, I recommend having repair modules as well. They regenerate the troops lost at a faster pace.
