Agreed, if you do not go the Kickstarter route, you could always do a limited run of anywhere from 500 to 1000 books and have a pre-order on a first come first serve basis, to see how it goes, and so Amplitude has less cancelled orders and unsold book costs to absorb. If the first run is successful, you could then continue to have limited runs printed as demand dictates. Hopefully whoever you choose to print the books will have good prices on smaller orders.

However I would like to ask, if you would be looking to ship this worldwide or to a small list of places, as I live in Australia I don’t want to miss out getting my hands on one. And I guess also if we would be offered either copy hardcover and soft or not when it comes to shipping?

Like we said: we are still looking at possibilities (which platform? hard cover? Endless Space T-shirts / posters? and whatnot) but we will surely post an announcement if we end up doing it.

We actually took a few photos to show you guys, but I'm not sure if you can actually read it: characters and spaceships (research, design and models).

These pics look great. You also learn something about the races, you wouldn't learn without the artbook.

I first thougt I wouldn't be interested but now I have to overthink this.

I would love an artbook. Unfortunately, I don't have much place for a book, nor a whole lot of cash to throw around. So maybe a $20 digital artbook of all the images in high definition... or something like that. That I would pay for.

Or alternately, I could just wait until I move into a larger than 3 square meter place and have more money... in which case I'd be totally down buying an actual artbook.

Haha awesome, just came back from Japan myself, epic snow up in the mountains there xD

But on another question, if you guys do get the books ready will they ship worldwide or only a small group of countries? Silly as the question maybe just hoping it can clear up some other peoples questions about shipping and so forth..

I am 99% positive that the devs are waiting to update the artbook after the expansion to include: Fighters & Bombers, Harmony, and Automaton ships.

It would suck to buy the book and then they put loads of new stuff into it.

So they can just hurry up and come out with the expansion
