The game didn't always act this way and I'm not sure what I did to change it. Is there a setting I can change so that when I select a new improvement or ship to build it will go to the bottom of my queue instead of the top? It's annoying to have to rearrange everything all the time.

Easily fixed, though - just press Alt again.

This happens when you Alt+Tab out of the game, because Alt is a hotkey that makes whatever you click be placed on the top of the queue.

There's also Ctrl - which makes whatever you click get placed at the bottom of every star system you own's queue.

Ctrl+Alt makes whatever you click get placed at the top of every system you own as well.



They're neat little helpful things that make managing large empires and construction queues easier. Though Alt probably wasn't the best key.

From memory, there's a flashing 'Left Alt' at the top of the screen if it's stuck on.

Once you start a game, don't alt-tab out of the game and then back. This can cause this behavior.
