New to the game myself, but have read the forums a bit and played about 20 turns.

a) Sit the ship in a friendly system for "quicker" repair. Unfortunately it currently takes WAY too long for a ship to repair IMHO.

b) I read on one of the posts where someone suggested being able to pull damaged ships back into the "hangar" (drydock?) for much faster repair (even augumented by DUST expenditure).

I'm sure it'll be dealt with.

Hope that helps a bit! Cheers~

And you can add repair modules (if unlocked in the tech tree) to your ships.

Yes, it took me a while to find these but they are invaluable if under constant attack smiley: smile

Repairing is a tad bit on the slow side at present. The best bet is to speed up repairs in owned systems, or as stated before, allow ships back into the hangar instead. That leaves repair modules useful instead for repairing ships that are away from home.

I suppose it's a matter of "pace" in the game the way it is so far. I love "Epic" paced games as an option (like in the Civ series), but as an ~option~. If we can assume that the game "turns" are playing by months or even years, then anything over a turn or 2 to fully repair a small "Scout" ship is too long. Especially when it's your only starting ship, and a 2nd one takes some 10+ turns to build if you start it on day one.

"Dry Dock" should perhaps be a researchable tech -- but perhaps it's already in the mix or planned. I'm not even sure yet if there are "Space Stations".

yeah i am about 120 turns into a game and a ship takes a lonnnnggg time to repair, it would take 1/4 of the time to just scrap it and build a new one but that would leave the area that ship is defending with one less ship.

but you know what guys thats why we are here, to help them balance things out to be right. so thats good feedback in my opinion, not game breaking but for sure unrealistic, i can understand if it is invading a system that it would repair super slow or not at all even, but to sit in a friendly system and take that long is really ridiculous

I would like to see a repair spaceport added to the research tree, this could promote the fortification of certain systems and the production of fleets in certain area by providing buffs to ships produced there.

+1

Yeah drydock and defensive station should be nice, like Star ruler modded with galactic armory (<3 ), we should be able to customize more our ships with much more modules (wep, def, etc) and get a new 'station' blueprint with repair, def, and maybe wep on it to defend our system and repair ships in the same system

Hmmmm... repair is super fast in combat, especially with upgrades (all I ever reached was tier 2 of repair though...). This seems counter-intuitive, but sending damaged ships into combat and then using the nanobot boost (or whatever) will give you a huge heal. If you place the nanoboost at the short range phase of combat, and you wipe out the enemy before you reach that phase, you still get the massive heal. Useful.
