I found how to create new designs for ships, but how to I actually build the ships? Must have missed this in the tutorial and cannot seem to find a button to start building.

Select the system, bot left it says system and ship, select ship then u can build them like you do system improvement

except it will be in the ship section, next to the building section.

This bothered me and was a pain too. But going simply inside the system and then on the bottom corner tab it says ships, there you can que for production.

Once you create or modify a ship it gets added to the ship menu on the bottom left in all of your systems

Thanks for the advice, I was having so much fun in ES until I realized I had no idea how to build a ship. This became problematic when I lost all my ships and just proceeded to close the game.
