I'd like to see better 3D models for the ships on the Map. It looks blocky and really lame. And maybe even tone down the travel lanes to something less bright. Maybe some transparent smoke or something for the travel lanes. It would make the game much more appealing to the eye. The travel lanes kinda look like the old school arcade Tron game.

I disagree. The ships in the view port look classy with their wire frame-hybrid solid models, and I have never seen anything wrong with the trade lanes the way they are.



However, it would be nice if the viewport had different models for different MP fleets. IE, stronger fleets use a dreadnought model while the scout fleets use smaller ships.

That's a cool idea, instead of just the usual battleship (I think) it would actually project what the fleet was made of.



Or maybe to keep it simpler, it would just be the latest ship class unlocked.

After playing SOTS 1, and then came here it was no change for me.



But what if a ships 'model' could represent the military power to a fleet?



Like 0-300 transport, 301-700 small ship, 701-1500 medium ship, 1501+ large ship?



That could be fun.

The models are there in ship design. I couldn't be that hard to swap out IMO. Just an idea.

I like it but sometimes (especially for new players) its hard to tell which direction the ship is flying.

I have mid-late game DDs with over 3000 MP... and this wasn't even using an combat-optimized race.

Ya I agree, the icons need something. Maybe there's 4 distinct sizes based on the fleet. But I still like the idea of a more realistic icon still. I'm all about the effects and eye candy.
