Ok I just got this game+expansion a couple days ago during the Steam sale and was very impressed initially by it. However there are some things I found very annoying, foremost is the no regression on modules that require specific resource while I didn't have the resource is there a point to this? And the tonnage module costs 300+industry for only 25 extra tons is that really worth it (why isn't this not percentage based?)? And the tier 2 repair module seems so much better than any other is there a point in upgrading further?
The tonnage module heavily relies on having hexaferrum abundance. That being said it IS +25% weight on small ships and smaller amounts of bonus weight on larger ships. And it's affected by weight multipliers on your empire.
It's not something you use i nevery ship design until you have a good industry base.
