Border Tension is currently making long term peace/cooperation impossible. While Alliance negate the Border Tension factor, the tech is too far down the tech-tree and you'll most likely be fighting your neighbours already by the time you've researched it.



My solution is copy the code responsible for cancelling border tension in Alliance and paste it under Open Border. It's a quick fix to make non-aggressive play viable for SP until a permanent solution is devised by the devs.



Despite all the other issues with ES, this small aspect turned out to be a game breaker for me and I know quite a few players agree with me on the forum. Looking forward to some changes soon.
