Some minor battle improvements

I heard that the space battles will get a big update after the third free add-on (not really sure but i thought i read this somewhere here in the forums).

After playing a lot of battles i got some points that would improve battles in my opinion.

Skip rest of the battle

If you have chosen to do a manual battle it sometimes would be great if you could switch to auto and the rest of the battle will be calculated instead of "playing" it.

Sometimes it's really demotivating if you see that you will loose your fleet and you have to watch the whole battle x)

Get back to managed camera

If you choose the free camera you can't get back to the managed camera. Probably you could make a "managed camera" button to get back to default view. I know this is just a detail and doesn't influence very much. But even to details one should pay attention. This is what makes the difference between good and great games smiley: smile

What's your opinion about this?

Hi, thanks for the suggestions (moved the thread to the proper section "Game Design Proposals"). smiley: smile

This has actually been voted a few weeks ago, but it did not win the Games2Gether vote; check out vote 18 - the ability to pick your battle card in auto and skip the battle cinematic.

Not possible indeed but it is not on our Improve List. I would believe that if this is not in the game, it simply means that we assume the player knows that he/she is going on Free Camera, at least for this battle duration. Later on, he will still be able to pick the camera type he/she wants for the next cinematic.

If it could be easily implemented I'd vote +1 for this.

If its hard to do, its as Steph said: It is only for one battle, so it is not the end of the world. smiley: wink

Hmm i am not sure but i would say if you just do not detach the "managed camera" from the scene node you should be able to switch between the two cameras (afaik you can have multiple cameras with different settings in a scene). If i am wrong you would have to re initialize the whole scene before switching back and then it would get tricky to implement it. But that's up to your devs....

But anyway as i said this is just a detail. It's not ruining the whole game play if you can't switch. The free camera is cool, too. But sometimes i just get to lazy to follow the battle after flying around in the space x)

So far i absolutely agree with adder smiley: smile
