Make the tax rate slider display the actual tax rate (-100% to +50%)

Currently the tax rate slider reads a range from 0% to 100%, which has no relationship to the actual income/expense generated at that position.



The actual tax rate goes from -100% to +50%.



Making the slider read out the actual tax rate would clear up some misconceptions about what's going on, and it would ease the learning curve.

Can't argue with that, it does make more sense to accurately reflect what's going on.

Yep!

I actually had never looked at the numbers to see this. But, if it is behaving in this manner, then I definitely agree it should be modified to give accurate information!

took me like a week to work out that the tax percentage was not what it says it is, man i was confused about the way dust was calculated before that, and i still sometimes am

The only drawback to this is that the relationship of tax to unhappiness becomes less obvious. It is one or the other.

I never look at the slider for that. I just move it down until my people are ecstatic (or as close as possible whilst maintaining a positive income), regardless of the scale on the slider.
