I was thinking that adding nebula's into the game that would effect happiness and other things would be a nice touch. The nebula would be of any colour and would increase the happiness of all systems in the nebula which would be present on the galaxy view. Maybe 3 or 4 nebula's per galaxy ,depending on the size would affect happiness and ship movement speed? I also think it would give the galaxy more personality.

There are already nebulae in a galaxy view, in the layers beneath the starlanes.

I don't think that nebulas actually contain any stars, but they are in the game now. In the background at least.

Yes, they added Nebulas, but they don't do anything. They should.
