In some games, you can privately chat with other players or "whisper" to them, for example by typing /w 'player_name_here' 'hi'! The game would then whisper hi to that player, but no-one else would see the message. It would be nice to be able to do this here in this game as well without having to add the person as a friend through steam, for example to coordinate attacks on a more powerful player. If this function already exists, and I just wasn't aware of it, then, 'oops, my apologies.'

+1, should be in the game honestly. The current communications system is completely bare-bone and needs improvements.

Fixed the title for you. I believe this has been suggested many times already though. Pretty sure it is even on our improve list, for diplomacy improvements, at least.

Another obvious option is allied chat.
