One of the things that I would like to see is the unique technologies of every affinity being accessible if the player buys them while making a customized race. These orange technologies are associated with a single affinity right now. It is good that each affinity does start out with a selection of unique technologies, because that gives them a focus to aid players - but people making custom races would like to add or remove these technologies, in my opinion.

Ah, I didn't mean buying all of the unique techs at once. Rather, to make it so that individual technologies can be added to the tech tree of a race. This naturally means that it costs some points to favor a unique technology over a standard one.
