Galaxy Zoomed Out View Should Still Show Empire Borders

Many times, I want to zoom out as far as I can and just look at the general status of my empire and other empires. However, the galaxy view doesn't show any of the empire borders (or anything for that matter) when fully zoomed out. It would be nice you could always view empire influences even when fully zoomed out. While showing the galaxy by itself is aesthetically pleasing, it's not very useful. Since I can't see all empires' borders at once, I have to do a lot of panning.

I agree with this... the borders should still be visible when zoomed out...

Yep, the further zooms are fairly pointless.

Absolutely, agreed.

Great recommendation on the same line for the expansion:

Have overlays and controls for what you want to be shown on the galaxy map. So with a small tick-box the player can toggle whether borders, sensor radius, fleet icons, resources et cetera are shown at any given zoom for quick assessment and management of her empire. Would be a lovely piece of minimalist, intuitive GUI.
