I like the battle system and how combat plays out, but I can forsee that in larger campaigns where you might end up with 20+ fleets each from two or more empires in some system, and the time it takes to resolve the conflict in that one system taking a half-hour. It would be nice to have the option to have all the fleets in a system engage in combat simultaneously in one very large battle. I may be wrong but I don't think the overall outcome of the individual battles would be different from the outcome of the much larger battle because all of the absolute values of all the stats of the units therein would be added together in one event and weighed against each other, rather than in 20+ smaller engagements involving the same numbers. This would also bring a larger sense of scale and grandeur to the combat, which as it is now is fun and fast-paced, could be more spectacular in size and scope.
