ES has done a pretty good job of eliminating a lot of tedious micromanagement, but one big one sticks out. The simple collection of fleets from multiple systems requires a lot of clicking, and a simple rally point system could fix it right up.

I agree. Master of Orion 1 from 19 years ago had Rally-Points.

You'll see that this idea has already been picked up by the team and will eventually be patched into the game:
