Whisper option

Extremely important for the multiplayer diplomacy would be a whisper option. Sometimes I want to organise fleets, discuss ideas, develop plans with my ally. It is not efficient when I send messages to everyone simultaineosly. It would be great to form different conspirasies and sometimes even lie to the players. I understand that the alliance as a diplomacy move wouldn't be beneficial since the players can communicate anyway but this could be avoided if there is some kind of extra for the allied players.

A whisper function should be included, if diplomacy between humans is involved.

I play Europa Universalis ( a global Strategy Game) in MP regularly, and diplomacy would

be unthinkable without a whisper-function. As Tony said already, it is hard to forge plots

and plans with everyone listening.

Don't generally play multiplayer except with friends but yes this sounds like a necessary addition +1 to this.

Just as an example from a recent mp game:

The blue player was pretty much dominating the galaxy and i was in a

skirmish with green which was a constant stalemate. The Inevitable happened

and Blue won the game. After the game we talked and realized that we had both

been thinking about ending the war and instead diverting our attention to blue,

but didn't do it in the end, because there was no way to do so without him noticing.

I think that lots of fun diplomacy- and intrigue-wise is lost because of this.

Yes very good idea.

Private whisper when makeing deal with other player is nice

I remember from my last game i wanted to make an alliance against player X but i could not make any secret whisper to other player about my plan

abit of an oversight for a multiplayer 4x game ... should be fixed at some point hopefully.
