I'd like to see beam weapons have a more accurate special effect when firing. As it is now, they fire in a small bolt or blast, like a star wars style blaster (which isn't a beam weapon, it's a super hot plasma 'bolt'). I'm thinking a beam weapon should appear as a continous line from the firing ship to the target. Think of a ships phasers from Star Trek. I think that would be much cooler looking and more in keeping with a traditional 'beam' weapon.
