Bad Planets

Does anybody know the settings to get the most ideal planets? Whenever I play, most planets I encounter are barren and lava....

You have to research technology that will let you colonize other planet types.

That is not what I meant. What I mean is that when a game starts, is there any way to have your system, and the surrounding systems, not have as many barren and lava planets.

But you can change the age of univers (old (hotter -> lava) <-> young (colder -> tundra))

Ok now I see, my bad. I guess in a way you can by varying the age of the universe as Antulamatsch said.

Surely the universe cools with age. That's just well known physics.
