[Answered] More food on full planets, what are the benefits?

Will it improve moral, production, income or what? Additionally will ships in orbit improve the populations happiness?

There is a building that convert 100% of excedent food in prod, so yes more food on full planet can be usefull.

About ships in orbit improving happiness : i dont think so but u can check this by passing your mouse on your happyness : it show you the bonus and malus you get on your happyness

So far food is only affecting population growth and later on via the second to last tech in the science techtree, I believe, it can be converted into industry.

If you don't want to reduce your population for the sake of building e.g. colony ships, there is no reason for you to have more than the absolutely necessary food production.
