[Question] Same starting points in every game?

I've noticed that ever since the last patch every galaxy shape seems to have their own set starting point. The planet composition and constellation layout is different every time but each new game starts me in almost the exact same spot in the galaxy. I Haven't tested this on anything but the the huge galaxies so I don't know if it's the same with the different sized ones but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if this is actually by design? I really preferred it before the last patch when it would put me in a random spot every time.

Yeah, I noticed this as well. Random positions are more interesting and would make the game more varied.

Its nice to know Im not paranoid and am not the only one noticing this. I agree more random starting locations would be good.

Yep its turning into always expecting Turn X to show up Race Y just around familiar wormhole corner Z.

Even the option to pre-seed Multiplayer maps is a step in the right direction too if its not a feature in the upcoming Beta.

That and ofc whats been suggested here in this thread.

Your starting spot depends on the color you choose for your faction. Each color has a predefined starting area in each galaxy shape.
