how to set the game language

Is there a way to manually set the game language? It changed to german with the last patch and honestly I usually prefer english games without translation.

Well, you need to do it via the Steam client (in your Steam library, right click on the game, properties, language), as there is no option for that in game.

I found the option, thank you.

Its easier because first thing after starting a game i was like "what the hell ar Säer"

Also alot of the text is too long in german, some stuff gets cut off like the "you cannot colonize yet here" message

It's a known issue - they're working on a fix for it (longer strings for text)
