You can easily comment out a technology in the xml (count whitespace carefully). If you remove a tech X, and some other tech Y has X as a prerequisite, you must remove the prerequisite also. For the current status of starbases, please see the starbase thread:
Thanks for the quick reply. I will wait on starbases then. I have little xml knowledge. What do you mean about counting whitespaces? I'm looking to disable the tech that lets you ignore phase lanes/wormholes and jump directly from any system to any other system. Any idea how I would do this?
1. I have two quick questions: is it possible to remove a specific technology from the game? If so, how?
Be alerted though, if you start to change enough technologies you will eventually hit to problems. (and I'm still wondering how getting rid of diplomacy tree affects to AIs ship handling -.-)
