I was looking around the mod XML for a way to have ships affect the planets they are over (provide trade routes, science bonus, etc). Is there a way to have an object (ship) edit the descriptors of another (a star system) or can it only affect itself?
I know the Automatons have a building that does this, but it uses a variable called "MyOrbitingShipsCount" and so it's still based on itself.
