Hello Everyone,
I wanted to drop in to first of all say a big thanks for all of those who are supporting us by buying and playing the Disharmony Expansion Pack. Thanks to you guys, it looks like Endless Space still has a bright future ahead.
As always, for us, here at Amplitude, launching a game or an expansion pack is only the beginning of an adventure. We are all here on the bridge following and reading your post, testing things out, coding "improvements" (not to say fixes) and already preparing our next update. I have read lots of comments and questions you guys may have and I will try to give some answers whenever possible in this post.
To start with the easy stuff, all our apologies if you did not have a Disharmony G2G key at release to register your game on the forums. it is now available within Steam, and registering it will give you both your award and 200 G2G points.
I have read a few comments also on the fact that some would have expected discounts on the expansion pack as we have one on the bundle, to that I just wanted to add that we all agreed here to make the base price already as low as possible, and the price is in no way an indication of the effort that went in. For us, an expansion pack must have lots of content for a price that would allow most to get it, and not the other way around. Now looking ahead, we'll keep tracking the issues you report to us, and we'll keep fixing them as they come. If you have any issues please check on our support forums, some answers should already be there, else we'll help as much as possible.
We already did a quick patch yesterday night, for some pressing issues that arose on the first day, over the next couple days we will be doing a small balance patch from some obvious elements you guys pointed out, and next week we'll keep fixing and improving on the most important elements you guys report.
We are glad to hear you have welcomed very well the new faction tech trees, the economic AI, the new expansion rhythm and so on.
Regarding overall balance, please guys, give a chance to our changes before ruling them out. I know that some stuff were quite drastic like the reduction of the number of weapons or the increased importance of strategic resources in the game. Some other could benefit from obvious improvement (like not being able to switch to an older weapon type, especially when you don't have the resource for the upgrade.) But we are on it.
We also improved a lot the stability of the multiplayer, and we are still listening to your feedbacks on that area.
Our next battle will be to keep working on improving the AI, as there are some situation, especially in war, were we are not satisfied of the result yet.
Don't forget to come and participate in our G2G weekly vote, as the current vote could have a big impact for our future.
Thank you all a lot, keep the feedback coming, keep it constructive, and you'll love what you'll see coming next!
Cheers
