The release of “Together We Rule” is approaching quickly, and we know you’ve been eager to learn more about the first expansion for HUMANKIND™, so we’ve prepared a short overview video for you. But before we get into that, we have some other news to share:

From now until Monday, HUMANKIND™ is free to play! If you weren’t sure if this game is for you, or you just wanted to get some friends to try it, now is the perfect opportunity. More than that, Humankind is also on sale until Wednesday, and so are the DLCs and our other games, so this is a great time to round out your collection.

Now, let’s not keep you waiting any longer. If you want to know more about Agents, Embassies, and the Congress of Humankind, check out the gameplay overview video:

Liked what you see? Together We Rule will release November 9th, and you can already pre-order Together We Rule on Steam, Epic Game Store, and Microsoft Store!

But we have even more coming, as we’ve been working on the Metternich update to be released alongside the expansion. In this update you will be able to briefly give control of your units to an ally to reinforce them, ambush your enemies with the improved stealth system, and form stronger bonds with Independent People.

If you want to know more about the features of the update and the expansion, stay tuned for more news in the coming weeks and tune in to our streams on Twitch

See you next week for a closer look at Embassies and allied reinforcements!

Very tempting to jump in with such a good discount. Only consideration: will the x-pac release for consoles again at the same time? Couch-gaming would be a very nice proposition compared to desk gaming. For that matter, is 4 Nov still on track for console editions?

I have a question, could you add stealth aircraft for the Americans' culture? It would be great to see a jet that can spy on others without being detected

Took the opportunity offered by the trial/demo to play it. After that ended, decided to buy it(minus the expansion, for now). First game got stuck at turn 100 due to a bug, 2nd one went a lot better.

Hello Amplitude! Cool for the new expansion! I hope diplomacy will work well !

I just wanted to know if in the new update, there will be a game option for the choice of cultures to be civilizational (European, Asian, African etc ...), during the 1st choice of culture? Because even if I like the mixing of cultures, going from Cartagena, to Zhou, to French, to Chinese... We get totally lost in the mid game - end game...

And a clear and quick list to quickly know "who" we buy and sell goods to.... Same in mid game, we quickly get lost  :/

Good luck to you !

Also very interested in this. Saw 'Free Weekend' and instantly thought 'opportunity to test how the Mac version runs', given that the demo is Windows only.

Same question here, where is the Metal support as well as native silicon support...?

After a year of curiosity I have finally downloaded the game on my M1 Pro MacBook. After changing the local file to "open with Rosetta" the game did start successfully.

The design looks nice and I was able to configure and start a match. Just when I was thinking about buying the game in the 4th round the errors startet:

Getting the same issues. I'd previously downloaded the demo on Parallels and been able to play, albeit at low frame rates, so I thought I'd give that a go and see how the full game performed. It starts, I can customise an avatar, but as soon as I dive into a game it hard locks the moment the map appears. Like, seriously hard locks. The music and sound are playing fine, but the game never seems to move past the first frame. Sending ctrl-alt-del to the virtual machine does nothing, Parallels can't shut down the VM. It can't even just stop the VM entirely. I have to force quit Parallels, and even after that it won't load again until I restart the Mac. Never seen anything like that before. Glad I didn't shell out on the basis of the demo now. ☹️

I have the same experience on my Mac Studio with Parallels - oddest thing how it just locks the whole machine

Civics may have to be beefed up for the Congress of Humankind to carry weight. I do not imagine being very flustered by a Legitimacy vote once the world has been settled, for instance. It should probably mirror the urgency of osmosis events. We will have to see how branching civics are handled as well.

The international crisis mechanism looks to be an agent of chaos! I see great potential for roll call escalation in the late game. Of course, I wonder if there is some delay between international crises or if one could simply eat the influence penalties to call a vote every turn...

Also curious how the AI will vote on the above.

On another note, hopefully we will see culture specific art for Agents. I like the starting variety in unit portraits but also see some wild potential for cultural differentiation. They are, after all, how cultures present themselves to the world.

And finally, what does everyone think of the new UI? It looks like it will declutter the upper left.

Everything looks amazing and I'm so excited about the first Humankind expansion. However, am I the only one thinking that the interface of the Congress of Humankind looks boring? I mean even civics window is more stylish with fantastic illustrations. Also, I still don't understand why Singaporeans are a diplomatic affinity when in real life it is rather an economic and trade power.

Just my humble thoughts, amazing job Humankind team ! Thanks for this amazing game

Как я понимаю в России покупка нового DLC будет недоступна?

Actually, it was only hidden on the UI, based on the video. With the expansion enabled, you'll gain an 8th affinity, hence an 8th Era Stars category.

Which is shown in the video by the total number of Era Stars available (24) : https://youtu.be/laxwUML_Yik?t=280

Besides, Leverage is said to spawn once grievances are triggered : attacking/killing your opponents units is one way to trigger grievances. Militarist pressure/gameplay will help trigger those grievances and generate Leverage, but not solely of course.

That would feel like a loss to replace one category by another one with the expansion, and would certainly be even harder to balance.

Looks good so far!

I was wondering if non-diplomat cultures could gain diplomat era stars. From the video it looks like they can't, and also looks like diplomat cultures can't get militarist era stars (so every culture has 7 ways of gaining stars).

I definitely understand that decision. Would be a lot of work to balance if all cultures got an 8th way to gain stars for expansion owners vs 7 ways for vanilla. And it makes sense that diplomat cultures don't have an incentive to kill as many units as possible.

Just at the price I'd hoped it would be, and it's great to see how the systems work to some extent. Not sure if I'll be mad about the Congress stuff, just yet, but I'll give it a fair shake!

This looks mad interesting. I always thought it was unfair to have multiple civilizations declare war on me, without me as the player instigating anything.

Finally having this option available means I can actually try to make peace without others being permanently mad at me after they're the ones who delcared war.

Those new mischievous spy dudes look interesting.

Also, nice new UI and civs.

Cant wait to try it out man.

It was mentioned that existing content won't be tied to a DLC-exclusive mechanics, buuut during the stream devs did tease that saboteurs will be able "to ambush" enemies, although I don't think they elaborated on what that means.

Dang, I had heard rumors it would be released October 12th. Oh well!

Wondering what the spymaster does, and looking forward to see how the embassy looks between cultures.
Also, saw some flags on the Congress. Perhaps custom flags could be a thing based on cultures, independent peoples and ideology? (I can only wish.)

After a year of curiosity I have finally downloaded the game on my M1 Pro MacBook. After changing the local file to "open with Rosetta" the game did start successfully.

The design looks nice and I was able to configure and start a match. Just when I was thinking about buying the game in the 4th round the errors startet:

  1. First the territory borders startet to flicker
  2. Then little color blocks appeared everywhere (serious graphics error that makes yours eyes hurt)
  3. Then the first attack on an animal showed the black tiles in battle area (as mentioned multiple times by others here in the forums)

So definitely not playable on Apple silicon, which is a pity. I think I*d love the game and I would buy it otherwise. But good to be able to test it out on my hardware.
