Anytime combat is previewed or manual combat initiated, there's a gamebreaking UI bug that turns most of the surrounding hexes solid black and inverts the colors. This has been reported in forums for years and I cannot resolve it. I've only ever been able to play the game using auto-resolve combat. Also, I've launched the game from the Epic Store where I purchased it.
