G2G points: use them or loose them?

I read in a thread that if a player register empire version he loose his old G2G points. Sudgestion was use them before redeem new code.

Got 2 question on this subject

1 Where to spend the points?

2 What do I get if I buy the empire version?

You don't loose points, and you don't spend points, it's the "weight" of your votes (here: http://endless-space.amplitude-studios.com/Games2gether), you can vote and if you pre-order the empire edition, you'll get 1000 points, so when you vote, your vote "weight" is "1000" points, a normal member has only "100" points and the normal game edition gives 500 points.

If you buy the game, you'll also be able to play with the alpha version.

So if you order the Empire Edition, you have 1100 G2G points to throw around as well as being able to play the best alpha that's ever been released!

I bought the game and got 100 points. Or is that to register only, the 100 points I mean? So maybee my registration didnt kicked in then hmm.

You get those points for registering on here. You then redeem the multiplayer code that steam gives you when you try to play on your user page to get the extra points.

Yo have to activate the extra points by entering the CD-key.

Click the amplitude logo, click your username after that. Then click to redeem your code and the code you use is the CD-key.

I did that this morning, or I tried to anyway. I entered the code pressed redeem button and entry area went empty. So I should try to register until I get 500 points for a normal game?

Got the points now, 600 total. Maybee I was tired this morning as I entered the code manually. In a way it was good I failed to redeem as I got more info how things work with voting and stuff. Thanx for helping me out guys.

Wait, I got the emperor edition, and I got the 1000 points, but it replaced my 100 points. So all I have is 1000 points.

yea picked up the emperors over a week ago and it does jack nothing.. i followed the instructions everywhere regarding steam and it hasn't worked over a couple dozen times.... maybe the code is not supposed to have hyphens or something else weird... i have not tried manually entering it yet... will give it a shot after work tonight.
