If you believe the votes are fixed, then you are saying it is by design. I would think that if the votes were not being calculated correctly (IF) then it would most likey be a bug. I am certain that the developer team would simply take the design off the table for debate. By following the logic of the "votes being fixed", then we should follow it to its logical conclusion: It is fixed (meaning on purpose) in order to make sure that thier opinion of thier own software prevailed. (And they certainly could do that without a vote as it is they that allow it to begin with). Maybe it is a conspiracy and we are but pawns. I think it is probably more than one system distributing the vote count after you trigger it with your vote, or a bug.

I still only got 1000 points, even though I should have 1100.

When I created my account it said I had 100. Then when I added the Emperor cdkey I got a total of 1000.

It should be that way: 100 (when creating the account) + 1000 (Emperor Edition) or 500 (Admiral Edition).

Just to avoid confusion: Does that mean that:

a) everyone with 600/1100 points should mail in their CD-keys after using them

By the way ~ with no way of telling just how weighted the votes are (and they are weighted ~ who has >1100 points? how many people? if there are people with >1100 points, what's the largest amount?) the entire process isn't exactly transparent or believable. One second, option A got 2,100 more votes, and I voted for B. Strange.

I don't care, I just thought the illusion was somewhat amusing. Off to break the new patch

Raptor - we got 100 points for signing up to the mainsite, the steam page is worded "add 500 G2G to the value of your votes" "An additional 500 G2G" whatever the intent was, emperor edition owners paid to have 1100

Ahh.. So in essense the players who have preordered the bigger of the two options, will have 1000 points of "say" over the 500 points from the basic preorder. Makes sense - also explains why we are at 100k already. That'd be a whollop of 100 point votes xD

@4x fan - my understanding is the points are voting weight. free users who signed up but didnt pre-order have 100 points so if just you + free users voted they need 12 votes to your 1.

I don't think it withdraws points when you vote. I voted in both the Sophon heroes, and in both of the new ones today, and it still says I have 1,100 G2G points. I thought that your G2G number is, essentially, how many votes you cast with your click.

Agreed - B was my pick as well.

Oh - I never noticed that the result was hidden until after you voted. Well done

As for how the points system works - I expected it to withdraw 100 points for each vote option I picked. But I can't remember how many points I had prior to the vote now xD

PS: The poll is slightly bugged. It managed to switch to B being in lead with ~80k points, but then back to A with ~100K when I refreshed just now.

You only get to see the total after you vote.

The issue is kinda simple though ~ if I have 1,100 points, does that mean that my vote = 1,100 points in there? So 87 (ish) people have voted for A?

B is clearly better by the way!

You'd be surprised how many people who vote at the same time so I don't find the sudden "boom" in votes fixed at all. I do agree that having the "lead" vote being displayed isn't condusive to the vote. People are known to be affected by seeing vote polls live when placing their votes. I'd prefer it if the "lead" was removed entirely and only the final result displayed after the poll has ended. To ensure a completely "neutral" voting atmosphere.
