I really do not enjoy limiters and guard rails in code. And to me the "random events" feel a lot less random, and more of a boost for poor play, and a punishment for exceptional play. I would *really* like to see a way to switch this off just like pirates. It's hard to get at anything close to a pure wargame as it is, considering the cards strategy during manual combat is simply defend/repair/repair under battleship build, or offense/offense/offense under kamikaze build.

When I started out at first, random events were quite helpful. Once I realized this game really requires constant adjustments of tax rates to excell, I started finding random events to be extremely negative. The better we do, the more we seem to get punished. There have been many games where I see "extremely convenient" random events benefiting the AI in given situations as well (adverse affects on player almost surgical for a situation the AI is facing).

If these events really are truly random, then that's even worse, as all it does is simply plot a course for wrecking a game now and then for the times things do get way out of balance. All in all I think it should be player choice, sooner rather than later.

I have played decades of wargames and many computer strategy games like Civ 1 - 5, Moo 1-3, MoM, Risk clones, Panzer General, Advanced Wars (really Battle Isle knock off and played all of those too) I could go on here. The point is there is a significant community of wargamers that do not like muddied waters with dice rolls, and things that simply wreck purity. Given the card battles are already in the game, can we at least get an option to stop the madness of random events?

Then everyone can be happy... (and hope for a full tactical turn based battle reolution years down the road?)

Thank you for your time.
