Hi all,

I'm pretty sure this question is easy to answer for some of you:

although having been quite active in the forums I never tried posting a screenshot/picture in one of my posts until recently, never having bothered before. When I tried it, however, I couldn't figure out how to increase the overall size of the final picture and it always ended up being quite small in the post.

Should pic size be done automatically? In this case which settings must I tweak?

Any ideas? Please accept my thanks in advance! smiley: smile

There is indeed a size limit for the attachments. I would suggest a website like imgur where you can upload your picture and then post the link on the forums. smiley: smile

actually, what I meant was that my uploaded image appeared quite small in the dimensions 2cm x 2cm (as they appeared to me), whereas others can actually post fairly large images without links in which you can identify clearly what's shown on them...

The forum uploader resizes images. And jpg-compresses the HELL out of them. You're better off using a service like imgur or tinypic, which is what I do.

Make sure you un-check the box; else the image is still added as an attachment.

Ah, thanks adder, I'll have to try that!

In the meantime I used the following, although the fact that this worked may have had more to do with luck: in the Manage Attachment window, I clicked the question mark in the upper right corner and this listed the file size limits and max height/width for image (640 x 480).

I then uploaded images using the jpg file type instead and this seemed to work. The uploaded images were bigger, albeit not huge, in size.

Does unticking the box, like you suggests adder, allow me to decide what size I want the image to be?

There is still a limit, but it is higher then the one for attachments.

I don't know the resolutions exactly though..

so you can only decide the resolution if it is below that limit, because anything larger will be resized anyway

Yeah that results in the same thing.

I don't do this because I type rather slow and my way is faster (for me).
