As the title says, I have a question for whoever is in charge of these forums, specifically whoever set up the experience system. Under the Earn Points tab, you can see that there is actually a redundant section. "Points for Social Group Discussions" (x2 points) and "Points for Social Group Messages" (x10 points) seem to be the exact same thing. I was just wondering if anyone (most likely a moderator) knows why this is.

There is a distinction between the points for discussions (threads) in the groups, and points for the messages (posts) in the groups, just like when you create a thread on the forums or post in a thread. The points you get for creating the threads are different from the points you get for posting a message in a thread.

That's weird, I have the exact same number of registered threads and messages, but I've only created one thread. Perhaps that's a bug?

Threads and messages for your groups? I'll take a look at it.

Edit: on your profile it says ->

Points for Social Group Discussions: 26

Points for Social Group Messages: 130

Yes, Points for Social Group Discussions is 2 points each, Social Group Messages is 10 points each. Simple division shows I have the same number of messages as discussions.

Either that is a random occurrence or the only replies to the discussions you opened were your own and you didn't reply to anyone else's discussion.

As far as I understand it, it is 2 points per reply to the discussions you opened and 10 points per post you make in the social groups. So if you opened one discussion and replied twelve times to it, opened thirteen discussions or any other combination along these lines without interference by another user, you'd get the number of points you reported.

Of course opening one discussion, having other users reply twelve times and posting in other users' discussions twelve times also works the same. smiley: wink

I'm still a little confused, I've only started one or two threads and other than the opening post I didn't post on any of them a second time. Also, I don't think anyone has replied to any of my group discussions.
