I just noticed that there's now a little flag in the upper-right corner of each post that lets you report it.  Thanks to the G2G devs who implemented this feature!

Hey!

It took a while, as the feature is much more than just "report". Did you know that you can also BLOCK A USER?

It's suggested anytime you will report someone. (It's an example, don't block Sublustris !). You can manage this list of blocked user in your account section btw!

Thanks for the tip on how to block Sublustris  !

Yeah, thanks.  I can confirm that blocking Sublustris works well, and it's actually a lot of fun.  Highly recommend.  /s

In all seriousness, I did notice the Block feature earlier.  Very nice touch.  I appreciate the thought and effort you put into all of this.

Does it also blocks the person you've blocked from viewing your posts?

No it only block you from seeing more post that would annoy you, and prevent this person from sending you private messages.

That would make some conversations very weird.

I mean, point of blocking is to have no conversation, so it's strange that instead of having no conversation, you still have someone responding to you and you can't read it, because block works only one way. That's how Twitter and Disqus work, and many others.

I forgot one part; conversations are already weird for the blocking user.
Do you get a warning, that you are not seeing a post? Or can you only guess it when it get replied to?

For example, if I block you, this is how is it presented: message collapsed by default and you still have the option to see what is being posted by expanding it :

Same as with spam then, thanks (could have tried myself instead of bothering you, sorry).
It makes the system not very useful, as you might end up reading everything to get a good grasp of a conversation, I understand why Sublutris found it suboptimal. The good point is mostly to avoid PMs but that's all.

And thank you both for your feedback, we will continue to improve this system with that in mind. What we wanted is to kind of avoid issues where people that can't see each other's post just make the conversation harder for everyone involved, something the "tree" conversation of twitter kind of dismiss by nature, but we will go back soon to the drawing board to get this better.

No perfect solution in this case, you'll have to pick a poison (or let members decide?)

One more issue on the topic.
I just got spam as inbox message (my first).

I reported it, and blocked the user. Sadly, I can't delete the post then. I tried unblocking him, to no avail.
I'd like to be able to get rid of it.

Spam in direct messages?  Should we even allow new users to direct message people?  At a minimum, should we require a nominal G2G points in order to use that feature?  (Like something more than 100 points but no more than 1000.)  These spammers are usually registering 100-point accounts so it may be easy to filter...or it could kick off an arms race amongst spam bots in order to get enough G2G points to spam effectively.  So I'm not sure if a points requirement would be a good idea or not, but spamming in direct messages seems like something that could be easily remedied since it's not a crucial forum function.
