Big caveat is that the mods seems to do a great job of removing junk, but it doesn't appear to be the fastest.
After seeing a handful of spam messages, some containing potentially harmful links. I think it would be helpful to have a feature built into notify a mod about a post to expedite spam removal.
Options(and drawbacks) could be
- A simple @mod tag that notifies all moderators.(prone to overuse)
- A button to report a post to a moderator so it can be reviewed by the next available mod(best, but most resource intensive to make).
- A button to mark content as spam(likely prone to abuse, but requiring certain criteria to limit use). Maybe have a hidden threshold for number of people(or g2g pts) to auto-remove(or hide) content. If someone tags things as spam when they aren't, then that persons future spam tags could have reduced impact to avoid abuse.
Whatever the solution, I think something to remove spam(and mostly the links) faster would be very beneficial to the community.
Maybe give a badge for correctly tagging spam to incentivize people to use it.
