When your working on a forum post it can be rather easy to accidently click some link on the page and then suddenly all that you have written is whisked away. It’s happened a few times to me. It’s very disheartening when it happens on a large wall of text that you have spent a long time on.
What I suggest:
After the Reply to thread or Edit post button has been pressed (and the post button has not been pressed) the webpage will ask for a confirmation message if the user attempts to navigate away/close the page.
With this small change many innocent posts that otherwise would get lost to the void can be saved, please think of the posts.
