On the positive side Steph'nie, you can pretend you're working while you're playing. Competitive intelligence. lol

There is no fixed diplomatic status or team victory, yet. This might very well end in a divorce! o_O

Dark Seer...I think my roommate plays him every now and then. I'm usually Dragon Knight (because DRAGONS) or Outworld Destroyer. I can play pretty solidly with DK, but I get destroyed with the Destroyer...But I refuse to stop playing him, as I'm too stubborn to quit until I get good with him.

You guys are so mean: girls don't have to play on their smartphones or social networking websites. Casual or hardcore, whatever, but I enjoy a game of Dota when I have some free time, a Diamond Dash game when I'm on the bus, or some Orcs Must Die 2 when I want to coop with a friend and have a good laugh. smiley: smile

I bet you guys play Angry Bird or Plants vs Zombies too! smiley: biggrin

I play Angry Birds, and feel no shame! Now if I could just get that last stupid star, I'd have a perfect record...And I got my girlfriend hooked on it as well, which she hates me for, because now whenever she's bored she kills her phone battery. smiley: twisted But she's still harping on me to get her my GCN copy of Ocarine of Time, so she can play it so I'll stop picking on her for not knowing what Legend of Zelda is...That disc is around here somewhere, I know it is...

My advice is get her a laptop with Facebook preloaded. My wife spends all of her free time on it allowing me plenty of time to play computer games...a bit too much actually.

I'm lucky. Mine is okay with me playing as long as I don't MMO (which I despise) and don't forgot I have a family. I usually play when they sleep.

With the last girlfriend I lived with, I just got her addicted to MMORPGs and she would happily sit on the bed with her laptop while I played other things on my desktop.

As the title says, my wife has finally put her foot down and banned me from Endless Space, no doubt in hopes that I will spend more quality time with her. The past few days have been a bitter struggle between my wife and I, eerily reminiscent of the conflict between the Concretes and the Virtuals. My wife, arguing that I should focus my time and energy on the real material world around us, while I wish to focus on the exploration of the beautiful virtual reality that is Endless Space. The battle has finally climaxed to me being locked out of our computer. Now I must sit on the sidelines while the fate of the galaxy hangs in the balance, but does she care? No.

Anyone have some advice in dealing with attention seeking significant others who come between you and conquering the galaxy?

Tell her you finally found the formula to love for her:

It's: x^2 + (y-(x^2)^(1/3))^2=1

And be aware that woman are all evil...

Thats proven here:

If I were you I'd respect that ban for at least a week. Then its up to you. You have to ask the question, what's more important, her or Endless space? (we all know the answer smiley: wink ES)

I just recently moved in with a long time girlfriend and I'm not sure she realized how much of a gamer I really am. Just be firm in that gaming is important to you but you are willing to pencil her in for a few minutes between rounds and see how she takes it smiley: smile.

Seriously though, just express that gaming is important to you but you're willing (and be willing) to be flexible with your time. Nowadays I don't even turn my computer on until 10PM or later during the work week. Just make sure she knows important game release dates and that you need some regular time to game.

My girlfriend simply doesn't really see the appeal in games...I cried and died a little inside when she admitted that she wasn't even sure what the Legend of Zelda was. smiley: sad

Although, it does depend just how much time you spend playing, and how much time you spend on her. I get away with gaming a lot as my girl and I don't see each other that often, as all the bus routes to each other's place have been scrapped recently. But seeing as she's your wife...Dunno, I'll brake the gamer mold and suggest it's time to sucker up to the lady and win some points back with her. Sound like you let her approval rating drop a bit too far, time to work on fixing that smiley: wink

That's why I bought an XBox to my girlfriend. Now "quality time" has become synonymous of her interrupting my turns to show me this or that cinematic or having me defeat that real big hard monster for her. Golden. smiley: kitty

The thing about introducing the missus to games is that you risk them occupying it instead of you. My girlfriend started playing Sims as a gateway drug - now she's squatting my poor computer half of the day smiley: sweat

And making the wife happy while still gaming is probably working best by getting her addicted to games herself, although you may end up being the one seeking attention.
