If you haven't played for a significant amount of time, the game might have undergone some large changes to the balance of the ship tiers and what not. Being in beta, this is what can and will happen ocassionally. I'm yet to experience any significant losses though. That said, credits are easy enough to obtain when you're flying with a decent corporation - so I really wouldn't worry about it.

If you guys are looking for people to fly with - drop me a line in-game (EvilTactician, easy to find most evenings). Might even be able to provide you with a home in our corporation - provided that you are able to use Teamspeak.

Insert shameless promotion as the video took some freaking effort.

I used to play this, but stopped for some reason. I came back to see that 4 of my ships were deleted? My credits were not refunded, and not only! But they nerfed Jericho ships, for some reason their cruisers and frigates have the same ship ability! Which I still find useless against the Overdrive on, I believe, the Corporation ships.

I'm learning the game right now. I recently reached Tier 2.

Furthermore I think I'm either a talent by nature or the king of the noobs. lol Whenever my team wins I'm always in the top 3.

BTW, my in-game name is Criculann.

I'm in the Federation but our corporation fights on the Jericho side. Your personal affiliation doesn't really matter besides for the bonuses this provides. You can gain rep with all factions and fly all ships.

Graphically it's very pleasing on the eyes smiley: smile

Now, my friend, tell me wich "faction" you are in and if there's anything else I have to look for smiley: stickouttongue

Bah, I typed a long topic explaining what the game is about and apparently I got logged out in the meantime. For some reason you can't go back in your browser on this forum. /Rageeeee

Anyway, if you love spaceships and haven't tried or heard of Star Conflict - go have a look. It's a pretty nifty space-based shooter which is currently in Beta. It's free to play (and will continue to be) with a good balance on the usual 'pay to win' nonsense. Paying doesn't give you any real advantage over just playing and achieving things that way. The developers are a Russian company who've done a pretty decent job at the graphics and feel of the game. It's the most fun I've had in a spacesim since Freelancer. (Not counting EVE Online, as you don't actually fly yourself - or the X series as this doesn't involve other players)

If you do end up playing or want some more info about the game, come say hi to The WolfPack corporation. Or give us a shout in Global chat, though we don't pay much attention to it as it's not visible while you're in a match.

Meet you out there :-)

I love Natural Selection 2 - but playing alone makes it such a frustrating experience. Star Conflict as well. smiley: frown

Edit: Personally I found the missile sniper fun as heck. People desperately trying to shake me off while I get closer and closer with my death missile. smiley: twisted

So true. PvE with some randoms makes me want to rip the hairs from my skull - following by a nice dip of my face in battery acid.

I tried the missile sniper but found that it's incredibly difficult to rack up decent scores with them. That said, I am terrible at sniping in any game and prefer the up close & personal kind of combat. I tend to zoom around in an Interceptor or bring in a giant hulking frigate for combat support. Good stuff.

Pity I'm not around this weekend else we could have had a few games. We always have a ton of fun on Teamspeak.

Meanwhile, this will have to do. I recorded the back-end of one of our sessions. Pity I missed the truly outrageous conversations before that.

Note: We were chilling out in PvE here, which is obviously a bit less hectic and will seem easy as we know what we are doing and are flying some decent ships. We're hardly paying attention and spending more time talking nonsense. There are two missions there with the second arguably being a bit more interesting.

In my experience, playing with a group is absolutely vital for any long-term enjoyment. In addition, the sniper/long range ships are a little 'meh' - they might seem fun on paper but they're an incredibly passive playstyle.

Once you hit tier-2 ships of the various factions, it's highly recommended to try all ship classes and roles. Each offer a rather different playstyle and at Tier-2 and above, the distinction between the roles starts getting a lot bigger, with more specialised modules and items available. Once you get to the upper regions of tier-2 and higher, the tactical depth ramps up quickly. Personally, I will never get tired of being the EMP bomb carrier in Detonation, making a run for the enemy space station and dropping a mine field so whomever is chasing me explodes in a giant ball of rage.

Once you play with a couple of friends you can deploy some great tactics, jamming weapons, radars and other systems with ECM ships or providing support/boosts through Engineering or Command vessels.

Not been here a while so I could probably have had a lot more G2G points smiley: frown

On ships/modules changing - the game is still beta, though I feel your irritation. It hasn't happened a lot recently at least - but they are still balancing things when and where required. Cost wise I haven't had a big issue. A few hours flying with your corporation easily makes you a couple of million, depending on your performance. I think I made about 15 million over the weekend.

4,700 G2G points is pretty impressive, a vote with some good weight behind it.
