It's not a natural force, is it? (By natural I mean Magnetism, Gravity, etc.) Because if it is then your riddle is misleading in many different ways. (Its the only answer I can think of)

I kept thinking of gravity and a rollercoaster, but then again some people might not fit in rollercoasters...

Correct! Was going for a drug.



'Put you down' could either be interpreted as a depressant, or literally lethal. "Pick you up" is self-explanatory. Sorry so vague, I didn't want to make it too obvious smiley: smile



Edit: As for a drug that could do this...a stimulant near LD50, it could pick you up or kill you.
