Hello,
I have a real problem with Dungeon of the Endless:
When I start the game and I click on '' new game '' nothing happens.
The menu "options"'is the only menu who works. When I click on  "album" I stay blocked and i can't return on the main menu (i need to use alt+f4 to leave the game)
When I leave the game,  the options are not saved.
I bought this game there a month ago, I worked fine after the first installation...I don't understand.

I have no problem or virus on my computer. All is updated and all my other games work fine.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling dungeon of the endless but the problem persists.
Could you help me ? It's very frustrating to have bought game and not play because the main menu don't want to work.

Thank you in advance for your answer.

Try the following:

Running the game as administrator

Checking that you have edit rights in the folders the game is installed in

Verifying the integrity of your game cache

  • Load Steam
  • From the Library section, control-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
  • Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
  • Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
  • Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.

Important: One or more files may fail to verify. This is normal for most Steam games. The files that fail to verify are local configuration files that should not be replaced as part of this process. You can safely ignore this message.

Make sure you do not execute any intensive other task on your computer at the same time such as scanning for viruses, or other cache integrity verifications.

Thank you for your reply.

I launched my game as administrator,
I checked that I had every rights in the folder where the game was installed, and everything is okay.
I launched "check the integrity of game cache" on steam, all files were validated.

After all this I restarted the game as administrator and the button "start a new game" still doesn't work
I really don' t understand where the problem come from...

What version of Windows are you running? If Win10, try Win 7 compatibility mode as that might alleviate some issues.

Yes, I use Windows 10. A player who had the same problem as I (on steam Dungeon of Endless Channel) had advised me to start the game in compatibility mode for Windows 7

(you had advised him to do that and it worked well for him). But for me it doesn't works better ... I just try again but it doesn' t work

Our Dear Frogsquad

I am Jungler from Steam. Just to recap, I have done all of the methods listed above. All but sold my soul. But that is why I am here :F

Hope you can help. Game was running fine last night. Turned computer off that night (no apparent update) and back on this morning and have experienced identical issues to those in this forum.

Honestly thank you for your time.

Updating here to note that Jungler seems to have solved his issue, following this piece of advice:

Hi Jungler. Yes, my problem is solved. My folder "Dungeon of the Endless" (found in the folder "My Documents") was in "hidden". Now everything works. Checks in the properties of this folder if "hidden" is unchecked.
if the hidden box is checked, the game fails to launch correctly...

this is possible as i have hidden files on this laptop before to maintain a completely false sense of profetionalism at work HAHA. I'll get back to you in a sec. Fingers crossed, and thank you for your response none the less. Stil waiting on a reply from my submitted DXDiag to the dev. I'm sure they are busy/its the weekend.
You are my hero. I am going to post (in discussion) about this until it gets bumped into the correct spot. So simple, such facepalm. Much gratitude. So Matt, here is the bigger problem now. I bought Civ 5 in the mean time so I've naturally become addicted to that fine game. But DotE is my first love, my neighborhood, my best friend and my enemy. Lol thanks again bro this was all I needed. Further into the endlessness we go.
