A monster destroyed a science crystal (forget what they're called... the big module you find that lets you research tech) just as my heroes were entering the room, and the science crystal was apparently destroyed but still stayed on the map.



Now it's just sitting there permanently deactivated, when I think it should have been destroyed and removed.

UPDATE: I loaded my saved game and now the crystal is gone, as it should be.

And ya, I noticed this glitch as well. You can still place a Major Module on top of the deleted Endless Artifact though, so it's not a game breaker.
